The Central Valley Chapter of the National Honor Society is an organization that recognizes and encourages outstanding students. Our Chapter recognizes students who excel in the following the four pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
Central Valley students in grades 11 and 12 who have a GPA of 85 percent or higher (at the end of sophomore or junior year) are sent a letter in late fall inviting them to apply for membership. This application packet and detailed guidelines are emailed to their Central Valley accounts covering requirements and deadlines. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate the four pillars of the organization. scholarship,(leadership, character, and service.) An induction ceremony is then held in the very near future. Members must continue with service projects within the school/community. These projects will fulfill a need within the school or community and all members are expected to contribute.
If a person is selected and falls below the standards for which they were chosen they may be promptly warned or dismissed depending on the circumstances.
