March 5th was declared "The Day of Inclusion" for Special Olympics of America.
At Central Valley, Mrs. Lupinacci and several Unified Youth students set up a table for a high school-wide "Choose to Include" activity from March 5-7th. Students, teachers and administration stopped by the table in the cafeteria to sign a banner to symbolize that they are for inclusion and are accepting of differences. After signing, each wrote one positive word to describe their characters. Such as "kind," "smart," "compassionate," "go-getter," etc. They were then able to take an inclusion bracelet, fidget spinner, sunglasses, or water bottle.
Unified Youth Committee Students also told others how they could sign up for the Rain Rally that will take place on May 16th at 1:30. Students will find sponsors to contribute to Special Olympics of Pa. Participating students and staff will run through the hoses of the local Fire Departments and let off some steam from the school year and Keystones. Students can have fun like kids again. Then they will enjoy pizza together with the Middle School Mentors and Mentees in the cafeteria following the Annual Rain Rally.
